If you’re like me, you have no time for big breakfast. In fact, a big breakfast can shock your body and leave you drowsy before the day even starts. However, the energy from a skipped or tiny breakfast isn’t enough to charge you until lunchtime. In order to have a quick and filling breakfast, try a smoothie. Using my epic smoothie formula will leave you full and ready for the day.

My epic breakfast smoothie formula has five components

Frozen ripe banana

This is the main compliment, for it has multiple uses. The fruit’s natural sugars serve as a sweetener and freezing it keeps the smoothie cool.

Frozen or fresh fruit

Adding other fruits to the smoothie can enhance the flavor and nutrition. Great additions include berries, mangoes and pineapples.

Seeds

Adding different seeds can add thickness and vitamins to your smoothie. My favorite combo includes flax (omega 3), hemp (protein) and chia seeds (antioxidants).

Oatmeal

This original breakfast food adds fiber and thickness to the smoothie, leaving you full faster and longer.

Milk

Last but definitely not least is the milk. Of course, you know milk helps liquefy your smoothie. Use less milk to create a smoothie bowl. Or use more to sip your smoothie on the way to work.

The type of milk also makes a huge difference. Great types to use include soy, hemp, rice and my personal favorite, almond milk. Normally, I use the unsweetened vanilla almond milk because the fruits have enough sugar for me.

BONUS

To add a little spice to your breakfast smoothie, I recommend additions such as cocoa, cinnamon, matcha green tea, shredded coconut or almond butter. These can make your breakfast smoothie taste more like a dessert, as well as boost the nutritional value.
