A 22-year-old DeKalb County, Georgia postal worker was found dead underneath her truck Monday night, Nov. 27 after her estranged boyfriend stalked and shot her in the head.

The young woman identified as Tyrika Terrell was reportedly stalked days leading up to the unfortunate shooting that evening, reports The Atlanta Journal Consitution. As of Wednesday, DeKalb County Police are currently looking for the suspect, 22-year-old Quantez D’Ante Tyre, who waited outside of Terrell's job before killing her. Terrell and Tyre had a six-month-old daughter together before breaking up.

According to eyewitness accounts, there were four gunshots heard from the loading dock of the postal office. One witness told police that Tyre was waiting inside of the Coin Laundry but did not notice anything out of the ordinary.

“I noticed it was something because he kept peeping out the window like he was looking for something or somebody,” she said.

Reports state that Tyre called Terrell's mother, Eugenia Terrell-Grant, telling her that her daughter was killed.

“I can’t imagine what was going through his head. Why would you want to take the mother of [your] child?” Terrell-Grant told Channel 2 Action News.

A truck driver noticed that the victim was under the truck leading police and investigators to believe that she was run over. But they discovered that the woman had a gunshot wound to her head and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police still have not found out why Tyre murdered the mother of his child.

Our prayers go out to Terrell's family especially her daughter during these trying times.
