If active on social media, chances are you’ve seen Brittany Renner come across your timeline in some way. At 4.6 million Instagram followers, it’s hard to miss the fitness guru turned actress and online sensation. The 29-year-old’s page is loaded with unapologetic posts and vulnerable statements that make her relatable to women of all backgrounds. She is not without her share of antagonizers, however, with some arguing the L.A.-based creator’s relationship history is a catalyst to her behavior.

Renner rightfully claps back at critics when she’s the subject of unnecessary vitriol, but there’s more to her than a defensive demeanor. Scroll on and get to know, in her words, the “mad, mouthy, majestic woman.”

1. She is a published author.

In 2018, Renner published her debut novel, Judge This Cover. In the tell-all, she takes readers through an unfiltered view of her life, infusing humor with lessons she has learned on her journey dating famous men. Each chapter is discreetly named after an ex, maintaining some form of privacy by giving them all aliases.

“Depending on your appetite for truth and reality, this book may make you laugh, cry, cringe, or all of the above. You should never judge a book by its cover,” the description on Amazon reads.

2. Renner is mother to son Paul Jamaine Washington III.

According to Newsone, Renner and current Charlotte Hornets player PJ Washington were introduced by a mutual friend in 2019 while the latter was a student-athlete at the University of Kentucky. Six years her junior, the relationship ended in March 2021 because of distance, but not before welcoming son Paul Jamaine Washington III together. Renner even has an Instagram dedicated to her experiences as a new mom, telling fans it’s “the side of me the media doesn’t show.”

3. Renner is not shy about discussing her reputation and public persona.

Being in the public eye can come with a lot of benefits, but it can also have its setbacks. Renner’s past relationship seems to constantly become the topic of discussion, and the Mississippi native finally spoke out against the criticism in a viral interview with DJ Akademiks in November.

In the discussion, Renner shut down allegations she was only with Washington for his wealth, adding they were a legitimate couple.

“Please stop playing this victim narrative. If you wanted to just f**k me and say, ‘Oh she’s trophy p***y, I hit Brittany Renner,’ that’s that,” she said. “Why did we have a baby? Our baby’s name is Paul Jamaine Washington III,” she added. “Does that sound like an oops baby? Does that sound like someone who has been bamboozled? You asked me to move in with you. You asked me to have your child at 22-years-old. And here we are.”

4. She was a soccer star at Jackson State University.

An HBCU scholar, Renner played soccer for two seasons at Jackson State University and in 2019 was named MVP for the school’s first Southwestern Athletic Conference women’s soccer win. In October, the entrepreneur returned to her old stomping grounds as an invited guest of head coach Deion Sanders to speak to the men’s football team during the school’s homecoming festivities.

In the Instagram post sharing her experience, Renner thanked the NFL legend for allowing her to feel “seen, heard, and understood.”

5. She is also a budding actress.

While fitness and her honest take on motherhood and relationships is how Renner amassed a heavy social media following, the internet star is also a budding actress. Renner made her acting debut in 2019 in the BET drama series American Soul. Fans ofThe Haves and the Have Nots may also remember the influencer’s two guest appearances on the program in 2020.

Whether it’s online or on the small screen, Brittany Renner is here to stay.
