At this point, we know First Lady Michelle Obama only rocks with the best and accepts nothing short of greatness. It’s only fitting that she would recruit her illustrious gal pals to help promote the first-ever United State of Women Summit. In a “United State of Women” video released Monday, our favorite girl bosses like Oprah, Kerry Washington, Jessica Williams, Tracee Ellis Ross, Laverne Cox and more discussed what makes women so beautifully dynamic in this day and age.
And the movement goes beyond Hollywood.
Shot callers like Cecile Richards, President of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo., Indra Nooyi and Dr. Jen Welter, the NFL’s first female coach pledged their support in further advancing women in America. They’re all calling on women everywhere to take the pledge.
I WILL:
Be in charge of my own body. Every powerful part.
Learn whatever I want like it’s nobody’s business.
Stand by my game-changing ideas.
Use my voice to stand up for my community.
Get paid the same as everyone else doing the same job.
Call out sexism when I see it.
Not be a silent bystander.
Twitter is already down for the cause.
I will do my part to empower girls to make the world a better place. #StateofWomen https://t.co/cCcPTsJ9Ia pic.twitter.com/Uv1Lqutl1e
