And there you have it. That's it folks. Your first look at Vin Diesel in the yet unittled new Riddick film for Universal Pictures which is currently in post-production for release next year.
According to Diesel, on his Facebook page, the film could possibly see a January 2013 release, with a trailer to be released shortly.
The film was written and directed by David Twohy, who made the previous Riddick films, Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick.
Twohy, if you will recall, wrote the orginal screenplay for Alex Cross, which he was supposed to direct with Idris Elba starring; but both of them left the project, Twohy's script was heavily rewritten, and we don't need to go into who took Elba's place do we?
According to imdb.com, the synopsis deals with Riddick "betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, he unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction."
WHEW! Riddick has his work cut out for him.
As soon as a trailer pops up, you know we'll post it here
