Flo Milli wants her fans to stop comparing her to other female rappers. The 23-year-old doesn’t want her name mentioned to bring down other artists.

“I wish y’all would stop with this tired ass narrative yall love to push about my career,” she tweeted.

“And stop mentioning me while trying to degrade another artist,” she added. “It’s WEIRDDD.”

Fans comparing female rappers isn’t anything new. It happened with Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, and several other artists, such as Coi Leray, Latto, and Doja Cat.

Comparisons between Flo Milli and Ice Spice emerged online after Billboard dubbed the “Munch” rapper the new “princess of rap.” Some Flo Milli fans quickly reacted to the news, pointing out they don’t understand why she isn’t more popular. Others mentioned the role of colorism when it comes to which rappers know mainstream success.

“I’m doing great,” Flo Milli tweeted. “I went from being broke to traveling the world with my talent and im only 23.. pls RELAX.”

The rapper was previously included in XXL’s 2021 Freshman Class. Her album, You Still Here, Ho?, was featured on the US Billboard 200 chart. In addition, she went on her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour with Monaleo and has recently performed at Coachella.

It isn’t the first time fans have compared Flo Milli to other rappers. Last year, fans pointed to colorism to explain why GloRilla knows more mainstream success.
