People were surprised to discover a tweet connecting actors Mike Epps and Omar Epps as first cousins. Although rumors have circled that the two were related through their mothers for years, the Next Friday actor set the record straight in his 2019 interview with GQ.

Mike said the men aren't related and they are just two Black men in the entertainment industry with the same last name. 

While Mike and Omar aren't actually family, there are more than a few famous families in Hollywood that some would be surprised to learn about. Check out the list below: 

Wood and Steve Harris

Despite being brothers, Wood and Steve Harris only recently shared the screen together for the first time as they both starred in 50 Cent's drama BMF. 

One person, however, said they couldn't get over the fact that they're actually related.

Nia Long and Sommore

People on Twitter joked about learning Nia Long and Sommore are sisters, though they've made comments revealing that they're not close. As the story goes, the two have the same father but were raised separately in two different homes. 

LisaRaye and Da Brat

Another person revealed how many people didn't know that actress LisaRaye and rapper Da Brat were sisters until a private argument of theirs was made public in 2019. They've since hugged it out and have shown each other more sisterly love online. 

Larenz and Lahmard Tate

Others also mentioned Larenz and Lahmard Tate. 

Omar and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Someone else pointed out that no list is complete without Omar and Cuba Gooding Jr. 

There were also several other celebrities with Hollywood ties that one person pointed out. 

Stepbrothers Dr. Dre and Warren G made the list, as well as siblings Brandy and Ray J with their cousin Snoop Dogg.
