Susan Rice had some choice words for Snoop Dogg after his rant about Gayle King’s interview with Lisa Leslie.

The former national security adviser warned Snoop to back up off of King on Friday.

“This is despicable,” she tweeted. “Gayle King is one of the most principled, fair and tough journalists alive. Snoop, back the **** off. You come for @GayleKing, you come against an army. You will lose, and it won’t be pretty.”

Rice is referring to a video Snoop posted on Wednesday criticizing and insulting King for asking Leslie about sexual assault allegations against Kobe Bryant. In 2003, a Colorado hotel employee accused Bryant of rape. He was charged, but the case was eventually dropped after the woman refused to testify.

During his tantrum, the Doggystyle rapper called King a “funky, dog-haired b***h” and urged her to stand down.

"Respect the family and back off — before we come get you," Snoop said.

By Saturday, he was backtracking and insisted he was merely speaking on behalf of the Bryant family and their supporters, per Page Six.

“I’m a nonviolent person,” Snoop said in a video posted on his Instagram. “When I said what I said, I spoke for the people who felt like Gayle was very disrespectful towards Kobe Bryant and his family.”

Snoop never apologized, but he stated he didn’t want anything bad to happen to King.

“Now with that being said, what I look like wanting some harm to come to a 70-year-old woman? I was raised way better than that,” he added. “I don’t want no harm to come to her, and I didn’t threaten her.”

King has been the target of backlash since CBS shared the segment online. In the clip, King asked Leslie about the case’s effect on Bryant’s legacy.

“It’s been said that his legacy is complicated because of a sexual assault charge that was dismissed in 2003, 2004. Is it complicated for you, as a woman, as a WNBA player?” King asked.

"It’s not complicated for me at all," Leslie responded. "I just never see — have ever seen him being the kind of person that would be — do something to violate a woman or be aggressive in that way. That’s just not the person that I know."

King challenged Leslie’s answer, stating that as a friend of Bryant’s, she “wouldn’t see it.” The line of questioning upset many who thought the timing of the question was disrespectful.

On Friday, the CBS This Morning host took to Instagram to address the controversy. King admitted the video looked bad when taken at face value.

“I’ve been up reading the comments about the interview I did with Lisa Leslie about Kobe Bryant, and I know that if I had only seen the clip that you saw, I’d be extremely angry with me too,” King said.

 She blamed CBS for sharing the video without proper context.

“I am mortified. I am embarrassed and I am very angry," she added. "Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview — totally taken out of context — and when you see it that way, it’s very jarring. It’s jarring to me. I didn’t even know anything about it.”

Oprah Winfrey, who is close to the journalist, admitted the drama has been hard for her friend.

"She is not doing well,” an emotional Winfrey said during an appearance on Today. “She is not doing well because she now has death threats and has to now travel with security. And she's feeling very much attacked.”
