The PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics have shaken things up. For the first time, figure skaters can compete to music with lyrics, NPR reports. French figure skater Chafik Besseghier took advantage of the rule change.

Besseghier performed to none other than The SugarHill's Gang's "Rapper's Delight" on Thursday night.

Since "Rapper's Delight" was released in 1979, the song has been widely recognized as a classic birthed in the early years of hip-hop.

The routine itself can't be shared due to NBC's broadcasting rules. However, below is a similar routine Besseghier performed earlier this year.

Besseghier is not the only figure skater using popular songs to compete. French figure skater Maé-Bérénice Méité channeled her inner Queen Bey, when she performed to "Run the World (Girls)" and a rendition of "Halo" last weekend.
