A viral video on social media shows two police officers throwing former NFL player Desmond Marrow to the ground in a parking lot in Henry County, Georgia.

In a Facebook post published on Thursday, April 26, Marrow, who was listed on the pre-season roster of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012, wrote that he was arrested by Henry County, Georgia, police officers due to authorities suspecting he may have been armed. Marrow explained that he was unarmed and claimed he fell unconscious during the arrest.

"During the arrest the police knocked my teeth out, slammed me on my head and choked me out until I was unconscious," he wrote.

In the video, officers can be seen grabbing Marrow and slamming him against a white truck in the parking lot. As officers grabbed Marrow's legs, the former NFL player can be heard yelling "I'm not even fighting back." After the officers slammed Marrow to the ground, he can be heard saying, "I can't breathe" before turning quiet. When officers asked him if he was okay, Marrow did not respond as shown in the video posted.

Marrow did not state when the arrest occurred in the Facebook post, but according to local NBC-affiliate 11 Alive, the arrest occurred in December.

According to 11 Alive, a police report revealed the arrest occurred after Marrow got into an argument with another driver who threw a cup of coffee at his car. The argument between both parties reportedly continued from a highway to a shopping center parking lot. When officers arrived at the scene, they asked Marrow if he had a gun; he said no, and officers patted him down and found no weapon, 11 Alive reported. Officers reportedly put Marrow under arrest regardless since someone alleged Marrow made threats.

Many on social media expressed outrage at the viral video, arguing Marrow was cooperating when police slammed him to the ground.

The Henry County Police Department did not immediately respond to Blavity's request for comment.
