I don’t have access to the budget breakdown for the upcoming 7th film in the "Fast & Furious" franchise, but I would say that this entire sequence alone (which will probably total a couple of minutes of actual screen time), likely cost more to produce, than entire independent films – the budgets of several of them together!
But that’s why we go to the theater to see films like "Furious 7," right? Because, thanks to extravagant Hollywood budgets (this one reportedly cost about $250 million), spectacles like this, which many of you will absolutely relish when you finally get to see the film, can be realized!
In the scene, the "Furious 7" team takes stunts to new heights (literally), as the entire starring cast drive their cars out of an airplane – a C-130 Hercules, which is a military transport aircraft. Below you’ll find the actual clip from the movie; and underneath it, is a behind-the-scenes look at how the crew made the sequence a reality.
You’ve got to appreciate the precision by these techies and artists.
"Furious 7" will be out on April 3.
