College can be notoriously expensive. At Houston Community College (HCC), you can take classes for the price of a dinner entrée.

The program is named "Career4U," and ABC News 13 reports applicants have their choice of five disciplines: Business, Construction Management, Information Technology, Healthcare and Transportation. Upon paying the $20 fee, scholars are required to participate in orientation, take pre and post exams and fulfill scoring requirements. Registration runs from May 4 to May 10.

Per the news site, the initiative is structured to serve those lacking an associate degree or a diploma valid in the United States, individuals interested in earning a high school equivalency (GED, TASC, HiSET) or develop their English language capabilities are encouraged to take advantage of this program. However, candidates must fulfill the aforementioned qualifications to be considered. Students must also meet testing criteria.

"Our students must pre-test to qualify for the program. Your test results will determine if you are eligible to be part of the Career4U Academy or moving straight into college-level courses," per HCC's website.
