Ice Cube is not having it with New Line Cinema.
The rapper-turned-actor had some choice words for the film studio after failing to approve a script for Last Friday before John Witherspoon’s death. According to TMZ, Witherspoon was the actor that the film depended upon and, instead of prioritizing the film, New Line Cinema let the opportunity to create the project with Witherspoon slip away.
“Back to the drawing board since New Line Cinema was slow on green-lighting the LAST FRIDAY script that was full of Mr. Jones,” Ice Cube wrote on Twitter, referencing Witherspoon’s character from the film. “I’ve been pissed off about it since Spoon passed away.”

TMZ also caught up with Ice Cube at the airport recently and asked him if he would consider using CGI to replace Witherspoon, similar to how Carrie Fisher’s family allowed her likeness to be computer generated in the recent Star Wars films. Ice Cube simply said to that suggestion, “Nah, never.”
