Since we're taking IMDB's credibility with a grain of salt; we can say that HBO True Blood actress Rutina Wesley has rumoredly joined the cast of Ridley Scott's Sci-Fi thriller Prometheus in the role of a character named Lara.

We last posted a newly released image of Idris Elba along with Charlize Theron HERE. To recap, the Prometheus synopsis reads:

"A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race."

Why didn't we know about this before I wonder, if, indeed it is true?? The film has been wrapped for a few months now.

The film, which also stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, is set to hit theaters summer of 2012.
