Just like in the Stateside poster, the suggestion here is that this is less Tyler Perry's Alex Cross, and more of a set up for a collision of equals. 

Also an interesting choice to have Alex Cross (Tyler Perry) in the "dark," making him look somewhat ominous, almost as if he's the "dark" one (even the expression on his face is telling); and Matthew Fox is in the "light;" or he sees the light, but both will eventually switch positions – Perry comes into the light, and Fox's character is buried in the dark.

Or something like that… 🙂
