We were introduced to Tennessee’s Isaiah Rashad back in 2013 for the BET Cypher. A year later, we were given “Cilvia Demo” EP which reached critical acclaim. After that though Rashad seemed to have disappeared. Not to the level of Frank Ocean’s absence but we wondered what happened to breath of fresh energy that was Isaiah Rashad.

Since then we’ve seen all the rest of TDE drop some form of music. However the time has come, Isaiah Rashad’s full-length debut The Sun’s Tirade LP is here.

He spoke about the album’s release in an interview with Billboard, saying, “You realize how critically-acclaimed don’t mean sh*t. It’s tight if you bounce back with something. If you don’t, you’re just a talented young n*gga. I’m just a talented young n*gga, at least that’s how it felt since I haven’t put nothing out since [Cilvia Demo in 2014], except like three songs. In reality, for me, if things would have went exactly how I wanted them to go, it still would have happened. It would have been similar, but the things in between wouldn’t have been the same.”

The set includes 17 tracks of newness. We were given a couple tracks beforehand, but I have no idea what to expect from the Top Dawg emcee. Production wise, we don’t have the usual suspects, and even though we get Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar and SZA on the LP, it seems like Rashad will be carrying this on his own. Don’t take my word for it though, you can stream The Sun’s Tirade below!
