During the wee hours on Sunday morning, while the rest of us were sound asleep, Actor Isaiah Washington was contemplating a pressing question about weaves. No, you read that correctly. Mr. Washington was perplexed so he took to Twitter with his random 5 a.m. concerns about women who wear hair weaves.
For my Queens that are being "shamed" for wearing weaves. I love you. I really do, but ask yourself. "Is it worth it emotionally?"
— Mr. Backlash (@IWashington) October 15, 2017
First of all, sir…who's being "shamed" for wearing weaves. And, what is this emotional suffering that you speak of? More importantly, why are you quoting yourself?
We're so confused.
No matter the time of day or topic, just know that once you put an (unpopular) opinion into the Twitterverse, the folks will come for you.
What do you & other black men get out of constantly going on abt black women & our aesthetic decisions? Emotionally what do y'all get frm it

I mean…
Well, shouldn't everyone be able to wear whatever they want and not being shamed or judged for it ?

What you "queens" have to realize is Isaiah just wants you to be aware of these weave consequences.
Yes, as long as there are no consequences that forces you to defend your choice for most of your adulthood. Life is complicated enuff. https://t.co/UUVJHq9FfR

When Washington's Twitter weave rant got a mention from Wendy Williams, the actor clapped back.
#MySleeptweet My 'question' was 4 my 'Queens' to give me clarity and not for a 'Drama Queen'. You attacked me for no reason .@WendyWilliams

Mr. Washington needs you to understand that not only is he the team natural president, he's also a client.
#MySleeptweet I've fought Hollywood by wearing my African Locks to squash the 'hair issue' and it's STILL an issue. Why? Nah…#TeamNatural
— Mr. Backlash (@IWashington) October 18, 2017
He went on to praise actor Kerry Washington for rocking her natural hair in a recent cover shoot for Allure.
#MySleeptweet Wondering if .@MadameNoire or .@WendyWilliams will BLAST Kerry Washington for being proud of her 'natural hair'? I'll wait. pic.twitter.com/Ox5vMrUNvd

Sir, you do realize that the lovely Mrs. Washington also freely exercises her right to wear weaves and extensions whenever she wants, right? Like, within the actual photo spread of this very magazine.
Isaiah Washington ended his rant on a note that we can all agree on.
#MySleeptweet I hate Twitter! No. I love Twitter. Wait. I really hate Twitter. Damn. I love Twitter.

Sis, can you close us out with a word please?
Amen.
