After the 2016 Oscar nominees were announced earlier this month, several celebrities spoke up in regard to the lack of diversity among this year’s recipients.
In response, Jada Pinkett Smith released a video on MLK day calling people of color to boycott the Oscars, and instead invest in using our power to leverage our voices in spaces that will acknowledge and recognize them. Well #AuntViv1, Janet Hubert, had something to say about that and took to Facebook to do so.
