John Legend is People's "Sexiest Man Alive."

Each year, a male entertainer is honored with the title. Legend is in good company with past honorees including Idris Elba and Denzel Washington.

The EGOTSMA (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony, Sexiest Man Alive) winner admitted he was a little nervous to accept this award. 

“I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it’s a lot of pressure,” he told People. “Everyone’s going to be picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title. I’m [also] following Idris Elba, which is not fair and is not nice to me!”

The 40-year-old crooner also confessed he’s been using his musical abilities to pick up girls since he was young. 

“I tried, I’d say around 12 or so to start writing songs for girls I liked. It wasn’t extremely effective at age 12 but I got better at it,” he says, adding, “I eventually wrote ‘All of Me.' It’s got about two billion views now.”

His chart-topping hit was dedicated to his wife of six years, model Chrissy Teigen. The 33-year-old, who never misses an opportunity to poke fun at her husband, took to Twitter to have fun with the occasion.

The Cravings author appeared to be proud of her husband but also pointed out that he may not be as fine as Idris Elba.

She’s also changed her bio to include “currently sleeping with people’s sexiest man alive.”
