Internet users are actively clowning Kenn Rashad, the founder of HBCUSports.com, for allegedly switching up his energy during a recent sit-down with Deion Sanders, aka Coach Prime.

For the uninitiated, Rashad has shared some less-than-pleasant words about the Jackson State University (JSU) head football coach in the past.

In September, Rashad blasted Sanders on Twitter by calling him “the ultimate sellout” and accusing him of spewing “false narratives” about payout rates within HBCU athletics programs.

“One could argue that @DeionSanders is ‘the ultimate sellout’ for not being an honest broker during his rant about HBCU payouts. HBCUs are paid the same — and in some cases more — than other PWI FCS schools when they play up against FBS schools. Beware of false narratives,” Rashad tweeted.

He’s also personally spoken about Sanders on other platforms and accused Coach Prime of being misinformed about policies within the NFL Drafting process.

His comments on Sanders have led to a widespread perception that Rashad is taking his issues with Coach Prime to a personal level.

“Although his words are imprecise, you seem to be leveling far too much criticism on a person/personality that do more good than bad with getting HBCU players noticed,” one HBCUSports commenter wrote of Rashad’s words against Sanders. “You have to your job and critique him on his role as the JSU head coach. However, your words and tone seemed to be laced with personal indignations regarding the JSU head coach.”

With Rashad seemingly making his stance on Coach Prime clear, people following the situation were left perplexed after he didn’t keep this same energy when he and Sanders linked for a virtual interview.

While addressing Coach Prime, Rashad appeared to fumble over his words, and it even got to the point where Sanders chimed in and asked, “What you talking about?”

People immediately began sounding off in the comment section beneath the post, which was captioned, “When you throw shade and post sassy headlines about somebody 24/7 then run into them face to face.”

“I’m so confused….Did they not prepare for the interview?!?!” one user wrote, while someone else described the interaction as “Sound[ing] like a 4-year-old trying to tell a story.”

Another person wrote, “This dude tongue left his mouth In the middle of a interview.”

Humorously, someone else explained the vibe by saying that Rashad “sounded like he was trying to ask Prime out to prom.”

The conversation also made its way to Twitter, where even more people critiqued the clip.

As for Rashad, he hasn’t yet publicly commented on the video.
