Sunday, Justin Timberlake tweeted the news that he would be doing the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show. While that's fine and dandy, the news made us all kind of confused.
I DO have the time. Half the time…#PepsiHalftime

As if anyone can forget the infamous nip slip from the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show that ultimately left Janet Jackson banned from the Super Bowl stage. Now, as Timberlake prepares to take the stage again, many people are posing the question what about Janet?
Black Twitter has even made #JusticeforJanet a trending topic as well as took to JT's mentions to voice concern.
And I DO have time to call you out. If @JanetJackson is STILL banned by the @NFL, your 'privileged' ass should be as well!

Apologize to @JanetJackson and then we’ll talk.

Wonder when we'll see the next Janet Jackson Superbowl Halftime show?!

This is misogyny and white privileged at work ladies. I’m not worried cause majority isn’t here for it #JusticeForJanet

Until Janet is given an apology by the NFL and Justin Timberlake I won't be watching the Super Bowl Halftime show #JusticeForJanet

Did Justin even realize by merely accepting to perform, the name Janet Jackson will be coming up A LOT #apologize

“Justin needs to bring Janet out” NO! The NFL had her banned for over a decade & they’d lift it just to make HIM look good? #JusticeForJanet

The NFL may have just tied their hands for real. With many people irritated with the NFL as it is, many people are threatening not to even watch the halftime show. Janet Jackson is an icon. You can't play with a powerful black woman's career and think we'll let it slide. Not today, not ever.
