Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson delivered an inspiring speech at the White House on Friday after being confirmed to the Supreme Court. Jackson, the first Black woman to be appointed to the Supreme Court, said “we have made it,” CNN reports.
“It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a Black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. But we’ve made it. We’ve made it. All of us,” Jackson said, standing next to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
