D-list comedian Kathy Griffin felt obliged to deem Kevin Hart a "pussy" for his choice to avoid speaking on Donald Trump in his comedy.
Although Hart has never been known to address politics in his routines, Griffin believes that as a black man, it's his duty to do so. The comedienne herself has never shied away from controversial rhetoric, just last year being slammed for posing in a photo with a replica of the president’s bloodied, decapitated head. She had a chance to sit down with USA Today about the political nature of her show, specifically calling out Hart while criticizing comics who leave Trump out of their routines.
“I do feel like this is such an anxiety-ridden time for everyone that there is a thirst for all kinds of comedy,” she told the outlet. “And look, if you want to not hear about Trump at all, go see Kevin Hart. He doesn’t even mention Trump. I personally think that’s a pussy move because he’s a black man. But I guess he’s selling more tickets than I ever will.”
Hart is currently on his "Irresponsible" tour and hasn't responded to Griffin, but you better believe Twitter has.
Nope. Kevin Hart hasn't told ONE political joke in his career. Not his lane. Much like telling Black men what to do isn't Kathy Griffin's. https://t.co/LSOp2CcRoz

First you hate on the president and now you come out as a racist to my boy Kevin Hart…. Kevin is a comedian, not an activist. He has no need to report on the great things transpiring in our community right now, like the lowest unemployment rate in history. Nobody likes you.

Kathy Griffin called Kevin Hart a pu^^y because he is a black man who won't call out Trump

She means well by the sentiment, but who is Kathy Griffin to tell Kevin Hart what to talk about? And she's invoking him being a Black man, but as a white woman, her demo is more of a contribution to Sweet Potato Saddam's ascension than his so you go crack jokes about it, sis.

You are not our ally. You don’t decide who should do what based on blackness. That’s OUR business. Your business is sticking to doing what you do best: issuing public apologies. Stay in your lane, bc I promise this black shit is ours @kathygriffin

Some are arguing Griffin had good intentions, while others say she was completely out of line. As a white woman, does she have any right to tell a black man what to say? Or is she doing her part to call out her colleague to speak on issues affecting the country right now? More people have come to the consensus the 57-year-old was better off staying in her lane.
What do you think?
