Keke Palmer and Usher‘s hot moment during his Las Vegas residency sparked a musical connection as the two announced a duet was on the way.

From an onlooker’s perspective, Palmer’s girls’ night out at Usher’s Vegas show in early July is the root of her and the R&B legend’s upcoming collaboration.

On Tuesday, they teased fans when they posted short clips on their Instagrams to notify fans they teamed up for a song titled “Boyfriend.”

Last month, Palmer became a hot topic when a viral video of her enjoying herself at Usher’s My Way Vegas residency caused some commotion.

As Blavity reported, Palmer and her girls went to Vegas to catch the acclaimed show and wore a sheer black polka dot dress. During the “Hey Daddy” singer’s performance, he spotted Palmer in the crowd, and the two shared a fun moment where he serenaded her, and she sang too, which was captured on video and quickly spread online.

Unfortunately, this garnered a negative reaction from her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, who faced significant backlash after he tweeted his sentiments about her fashion choice that he disapproved of. Many assume the aftermath of his public criticism resulted in the couple’s split, which neither Palmer nor the up-and-coming actor has confirmed.

Shortly after things died down, Usher spoke out on the matter and said he aims for every show to be a good time but admitted he’s been in his head every night since his moment with the singer spread like wildfire.

“Every night I’m thinking about how the world now is going to react to this moment that I’ll have with whoever I’m choosing to sing to. But it was a pop moment, and it was fun to have at least a conversation going and we just keep it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas,” the 44-year-old told People.

Fans left comments of excitement when they learned of Palmer and Usher’s upcoming “Boyfriend” duet.

“Straight from the kandi burruss book of turning a shade tree into a money tree 😂😂,” one fan wrote.

“Can’t even be mad they making a bag off the situation. That man tried to humiliate you and you turning it into profit for you and yo son! It’s a MOTHA,” another person commented.
