Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh is reportedly in poor health and isn't "lucid" enough to make a decision on whether or not she should resign, Pugh's lawyer Steve Silverman told reporters on Thursday.
"She understands the city comes first, the citizens of Baltimore come first. She just needs to be physically and mentally sound and lucid enough to make appropriate decisions," Silverman said. "I'm saying she's not fit to make decisions today."
The news about Pugh's health comes amid raids conducted by FBI and IRS agents at Baltimore city hall and two of Pugh's homes. The 69-year-old mayor is currently under investigation over sales of her "Healthy Holly" children's books.
According to WJZ news, Pugh received almost $800,000 selling her self-published books to organizations doing business with the city.

Pugh, reportedly, hasn't been seen for weeks since announcing a leave of absence on April 1 due to a bout of pneumonia. Although some initial reports suggested Pugh may have left the state, her attorney told reporters that Pugh is in Baltimore, but she's been advised by her doctors to take time to recover and focus on her health.
"I think for people to make material decisions in their life, they have to be at a certain level of stability in order to make those decisions," Silverman told WJZ news.
