During an interview, Lil Uzi Vert revealed how he received his stage name. Born Symere Bysil Woods, the "Demon High" rapper shared that he came up with the creative name after getting some inspiration from a random "crackhead."

“I got named by a crackhead,” Uzi said in the video, in response to one of the questions from interviewers.

“He said you rapped fast?” one of the interviewers asked, before Uzi replied, “Yeah, yeah he’s a good guy.”

This isn't the first time Uzi has discussed his name and where it came from. In 2016, the 26-year-old told Vibe magazine, “Some guy was just like ‘you rap fast, man. Like a little machine gun,’ and from that moment I was Lil Uzi.”

According to Hot 97, he recently got upset during one of his Twitch livestreams, calling out popular Twitch streamer Adin Ross for calling the rapper by his government name.

”Bro, stop calling me by my f**king name. No, no, no, no. Stop calling me by my f**king name, please," he said during the stream.

During the interview, Lil Uzi Vert spoke about how his insurance company almost dropped him over his infamous pink diamond. According to Complex, he said the $24 million pink forehead diamond caused some contention with the insurance company because it believed the purchase wasn't a smart investment.

“This is actually the back post of it,” he said, motioning toward the space where the diamond was located on his face. He explained that the post was actually an attachment to a pre-existing piercing. “It was pretty heavy, it was like ripping my forehead and I had to let it reheal.”

“I had to really get my s**t together,” he continued. “My insurance tried to cut me off, they were like, ‘This kid’s trying to kill himself.’ … Because we knew it was a piercing, my insurance looked at it like, ‘This kid just implanted this diamond in his head, and he’s gonna die.’ … I really had to call the piercing person and show them low-key… it’s literally a piercing.”
