The scorching hot track is Lizzo’s first official single since she released her 2019 album, Cuz I Love You.
In the stunning visual for the new single that is reminiscent of ancient Greece, Lizzo addressed all of the trolls and critics who’ve been attaching her name to rumors about her figure, diet and love life. Adorned as a goddess in plenty of jewels and a sparkly gold dress, Lizzo reminds everyone that she’s her own woman.
"Last year, I thought I would losе it/ Readin' s**t on the internеt / My smoothie cleanse and my diet/ No, I ain't f**k Drake yet," she croons.
"Spendin' all your time tryna break a woman down/ Realer s**t is goin' on, baby, take a look around/ If you thought that I was ratchet with my ass hangin' out/ Just wait until the summer when they let me out the house, b***h" she brags, seemingly referencing the vitriol she faced after twerking at an NBA game last year.
Flaunting her baby bump and covered in gold chains, Cardi B unloads on everybody who’s had something to say about her as she reads from a scroll.
"All the rumors are true, yeah/ Fake ass, fake boobs, yeah/ Made a million at Sue's, yeah/ Y'all be runnin' with fake news, yeah,” she rapped.
Lizzo first teased the track earlier this week on her Instagram where she woke Cardi B out of her sleep for a quick Facetime.
Along with expecting her second child, Cardi B is having a sizzling summer as well. Not only is she featured on "Rumors," but she co-stars with Normani on the seductive hit “Wild Side,” as Blavity previously reported.
Now that "Rumors" is officially released, the "Truth Hurts" singer is back on the scene in a major way. On Sept. 4, Lizzo will hold the distinction of being the first woman to have headlined the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Additionally, she's set to perform at Global Citizen Live on Sept. 25.
