Lizzo shared a heartwarming video on Instagram recently after she bought her mom a new car for Christmas.
"Got my mommy a brand new Audi for Xmas ???? I remember crying in my car when my daddy passed, no job no money, nowhere to live, wishing I could one day provide for my family.. I couldnt do it for my dad so ima make sure I spoil Mama. Happy holidays y’all," she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post.
The video features the hit songstress slowly walking her mother, with her eyes closed, out into the family's driveway.
Waiting in the wings was a brand new Audi wrapped in a giant red bow.
Lizzo has often spoken about how important her family is to her and how much they have contributed to her success as an artist.
"I’m so thankful to share this energetic DNA, there’s no one on this planet I am closer to. Thank you for showing me how to lead. Thank you for being my will to live after daddy passed. Thank you for supporting me even though I am stubbornly self-sufficient," she wrote in dedication to her mom in another Instagram post.
"Thank you for allowing me to be myself. I know y’all don’t be on social media like that lol… but I wanna scream from the mountain tops my love for you," she added.
Lizzo's father died in 2009, according to BuzzFeed News, when she was 21 years old.
Her mom was very excited when she saw the new car. The comment section on Instagram was full of congratulatory comments from the singer's friends like SZA and many others.
Nothing says, "Merry Christmas" like a new car!
