This group of South Florida lunch ladies have recently gone viral on TikTok with their cafeteria-based antics.

Some of their most popular uploads involve the cafeteria employees having fun while preparing lunch for the middle school students.

Barbara Rolle, a member of the Lunch Lady Squad, said that the idea was conceptualized as a way to connect more with students.

“When they come through that line, they say, ‘Hey Ms. Barbara!’ And I say, ‘Hey baby, how you doing?'” she said. “We just get to dancing and I get to putting on the music for them,” Rolle said. “I go to dance and say, ‘Alright, now get it!'”

“They just fell in love with me, and I fell in love with them, too,” she continued. “We just bonded, and I just love them. God knows I love them, and I love serving the kids.”

“I see Ms. Barbara as a best friend,” 8th grader Brisa Diaz added. “So I’m always like, ‘Hey best friend.’ And she’s always like, ‘Hey baby.'”

Diaz also noted that, while “students used to kind of be rude to the lunch ladies,” everything changed once the middle school began featuring them on the morning announcements.

“I think it gives them more of a voice,” fellow student Jonas Slusher noted. “Sort of connects them with students more.”

Cafeteria manager Cori Kerezman also addressed how the Lunch Lady Squad made the leap to creating TikTok content.

“I said, ‘Hey guys, you know what? Why don’t we do a TikTok and see how the students like that,'” she said. “We did our first one, and they went insane.”

“It really has brought us closer to the students, for sure. I love them,” she added. “They’re my family.”

“It makes me feel like they are one of us,” student Rebecca Vital said of the cafeteria employees. “They like the same things as us. They like making videos.”

“They’re the reason I come to school a lot,” she continued. “They always brighten my mood in the morning [and] the afternoon. I love seeing them.”
