Mary J. Blige has met many people throughout her 30-plus-year career, so to impress her is an enormous feat. However, British-Nigeran rapper Skepta seemed to do just that. A short clip of the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul meeting the handsome rapper at the 2023 Met Gala has gone viral because fans noticed the nine-time Grammy winner seemed to enjoy the view.
Blige, who also stars in Power Book ll: Ghost, appeared to eye Skepta from head to toe as he turned away from her. Of course, social media is having a field day with the flirtatious interaction. While the clip’s original audio was unavailable, we can only imagine Skpeta expressed his admiration for the legend, who burst onto the music scene with What’s the 411? in 1992. As the clip from Twitter user @JeffChangx made its rounds, fans agreed Auntie Mary appeared ready to “risk it all.” See some of the funny reactions below.

Skepta is no stranger to catching the eye of iconic women. The 40-year-old artist was linked to supermodel Naomi Campbell for four years. Born Joseph Adenuga, Skepta has emerged as one of the most notable artists in the U.K. rap scene. His career spans over two decades and features collaborations with Drake, A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, J. Balvin and more. In 2018, Skepta received a Nigerian chieftaincy titled “Amuludun of Odo-Aje.”
Complex broke down the significance of the “Amuludun of Odo Aje” title, which translates into “entertainer” in the Yoruba language, a nod to Skepta’s influence and contributions to the grime music scene. That same night, Skepta shared a heartfelt thank you in an Instagram video with the caption: “Thank you to the Baale, Chiefs of Odo Aje and King for presenting me with my Chieftaincy title today. I am honoured and will continue to put time and love into Nigeria, especially the community of Odo Aje.”
