McDonald's manager Delonda Walker is $110,000 richer after helping police capture a suspected Florida serial killer.

It all started when her fellow team member – 24-year-old Howell Donaldson III – handed her a handgun, according to ABC Action News in Tampa Bay. Donaldson told Walker to keep the gun for safekeeping because he was apparently leaving the state unexpectedly.

Finding this peculiar, Walker took the gun to police the same day Donaldson gave her the weapon. And shortly after, police arrested the man suspected of killing four people in the Seminole Heights neighborhood.

At the time of his arrest, Donaldson faces four counts of first-degree murder for the killing of Anthony Naiboa, Monica Hoffa, Benjamin Mitchell and Ronald Felton. Walker's quick thinking has brought some sense of closure to the case and she was met with hugs when she agreed to meet with 32-year-old Monica Hoffa's family.

“She took all of that worry that was out there away, and she made us all whole again,” said Kenny Hoffa, Monica’s father. “She’s a hero to all of us and our family. She’s part of our family now.”

Her reward money isn't one lump sum; it comes from various groups and businesspeople wanting to bring Donaldson in. The highest total of $50,000 came from the FBI, $20,000 came from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and $10,000 was given by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Other organizations like Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay also contributed to her reward.

Although the hero did not speak to media after receiving half of the money guaranteed, she did release a statement expressing her gratitude.

“I am … appreciative of the outpouring of support from the community," the statement read. "My thoughts are focused on the victims and their families and out of respect for them and the active investigation, please direct inquiries to the Tampa Police Department.”
