Michelle Obama certainly knows how to pull at heartstrings. On Wednesday morning (May 23), the
former forever first lady posted an old photo with former President Barack Obama from their wedding day. While that in itself had our hearts starting to feel the things, the caption on the Instagram post was what really got us.
In the photo a young Barack can be seen retrieving Michelle's garter in a traditional segment of their wedding. The pair were all smiles, and as she wrote, they are still having fun some 25 years later.
You can’t tell it from this photo, but Barack woke up on our wedding day in October, 1992 with a nasty head cold. Somehow, by the time I met him at the altar, it had miraculously disappeared and we ended up dancing almost all night. Twenty five years later, we’re still having fun, while also doing the hard work to build our partnership and support each other as individuals. I can’t imagine going on this wild ride with anybody else.
She noted in the caption they wed 25 years ago in October 1992. Interestingly, she wrote that Barack had a head cold on their wedding day, but he "miraculously" recovered by the time they met at the altar. Clearly, the head cold did not hold the pair back from having a good time; Michelle Obama wrote they were "dancing almost all night."
"Twenty five years later, we’re still having fun, while also doing the hard work to build our partnership and support each other as individuals," she wrote in part. "I can’t imagine going on this wild ride with anybody else."
