Comedian Deon Cole's mother, Charleen Cole, recently passed away on Friday. A member from Cole's camp shared the news to his 1.2 million followers on Instagram on Monday, and expressed the two-time SAG Award nominee isn't in a position to return calls or messages but appreciates the outpouring of love and support for him during this unfortunate time.
"It’s with very heavy hearts, we let you know of the passing of Deon Cole’s beloved mother, Charleen Cole, on Friday, September 10th. Deon isn’t in a position to return calls or messages right now but wants you all to know that he appreciates all of your love, light, and support, and thanks you for your continued thoughts and prayers for him and his family," the caption reads.
Cole has always shown his love and appreciation for his mother.
In 2016, he appeared on Chicago's WGN9 with his mom and played a game called "Deon Cole's Mother Knows Best," where the Barbershop 2 actor had to match his mother's answers.
The Black-ish star appeared on Larry King Now in 2019 where he revealed his mother is his biggest inspiration.
"Charleen Cole is funny as hell. She's funny, smart and determined. She went through a lot to get me here, so it's my job now to make sure she gets anything she wants," Cole said in the interview.
