Earlier this week, west coast Living Legend emcee Murs set the record for time spent rapping straight. This isn’t just hype, Murs teamed up with Boost Mobile and rapped for 24 hours, receiving a five-minute break every hour (there was no previous record holder). I didn’t get a chance to peep the majority of the stream, but from what I did see, Murs was the perfect emcee to take on the task. For those not in the know, Murs came onto the scene in 1996 and has been one of the most consistent, yet still unique emcees to come around in hip-hop.

Murs rapped a ton of classics from Ice Cube, Hiero, Wu-Tang Clan and more. I personally have to admit I slept on the difficulty of this task, but apparently Murs has been training and posting these sessions on his Twitch channel. 26 hours later, the Strange Music emcee broke the record. XXL did the math, and with the average song being about three minutes, that means Murs rapped about an album’s length of music in an hour. This comes out to around 480 songs total. If that doesn’t blow your mind, nothing will. You can check the last two hours of the record breaking stream above.
