A New Jersey gift shop worker has been suspended for kicking out a group of teenage girls who wanted to shop in the store.

A video posted on Facebook by Attiyya Barrett on Friday, August 10, captured the hostile Jenkinson's Aquarium Gift Shop worker in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. The woman in the video, identified as Linda, has been suspended for her actions, according to NJ.com.

"I had to explain to 40 girls that they are still valuable, and [their] green dollars still [spend] even if racist folks try to hurt them," she wrote.

Barrett claims Linda, seen sporting some troubling eyebrows, told seven of the girls in the group to leave the store because they entered without an adult chaperone. The girls left the store and retrieved the requested chaperone, but Linda reportedly continued to harass them and demand they leave.

When Barrett pulled out her phone to record the incident, Linda turned her vitriol toward her.

“You guys love to get your phones out to record,” Linda said.

Barrett demanded to know the reason why the girls were asked to leave.

“Cause they didn't have a chaperone,” the worker answered indignantly.

Barrett followed up with Linda pointing out the girls did get a chaperone, but that was not enough for Linda.

Linda replied, “I didn't think she was a chaperone.”

“It was a pretty bad experience because we didn't do anything wrong,” 12-year-old Kierra Williams told northjersey.com.

Barrett wrote that the girls left the stop in tears.

Jenkinson's Pavilion said in a statement that an internal investigation is currently underway, reports New Jersey News 12.

“We sincerely apologize to the girls from the camp group for the way they felt upon leaving,” said marketing director Toby Wolf. “We have been in contact with the group leader and will continue to work with her to make amends.”
