This could provide a career/visibility boost for actor Ray Fisher, who has just been cast to play Cyborg, in Warner Bros much anticipated Batman vs. Superman project, which Zack Snyder is directing.
Fisher was selected after several actors had been seen for the part. He’ll be joining Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot and Amy Adams in the WB/DC Comics movie that’s currently shooting, with a May 2016 release date eyed by the studio.

Cyborg, also known as Victor Stone, is a superhero who is half man and half machine. His body was destroyed in a tragic accident, but he was saved through experimental technology; his body parts weren replaced with a large arsenal of high-tech gadgets and weaponry, while constantly providing life support. Stone struggles with his humanity as a machine, although his advancements have made him an unstoppable powerhouse. He has primarily been a member of the Teen Titans, but he is also a member of the Justice League of America. Cyborg was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in DC Comics Presents #26. (1980)
According to Variety, the character will play a much more significant role in the filmed Justice League universe, as Warner Bros and DC plan to develop more films based on characters from that world – not-so unlike what Disney and Marvel are doing.
So expect to see one or three cameos by other DC Comics characters in the upcoming Superman/Batman movie, which was penned by David Goyer, and is being produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder.
As for Ray Fisher, he’s a relative newcomer. His IMDB page lists just one short film. But, he does have stage credits, including appearing in a production of William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in 2008, and, most recently, last fall, he starred as Muhammad Ali in the off-Broadway stage drama Fetch Clay, Make Man by Will Powers at New York Theater Workshop, New York City.
He was also one of the actors tested for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII.
