What should a pro athlete do after retirement? Become a commentator? Go on Dancing With the Stars? Maybe they could open a marijuana-friendly gym like Ricky Williams!
The former NFL star recently partnered with 420 Games founder Jim McAlpine to open a San Francisco-based gym called Power Plant Fitness. “Having Ricky Williams as a partner is f*cking awesome because he exemplifies a successful and very athletic person who also uses cannabis,” McAlpine told Complex.
Each member of Power Plant Fitness will undergo a cannabis assessment to calculate healthy dosages. The gym will also offer a line of “athletic edibles” that help improve workout performance.
Williams will manage the gym and serve as its spokesperson.
Williams NFL career was overshadowed by his own marijuana use.
“I was a really good football player, a really good person, my teammates loved me, my coaches loved me, but my career and life were ruined because of a drug test,” Williams said. Judging by his new venture, everything worked out in the end.
Power Plant Fitness opens for business this November.
