Normani’s newest video for her single “Motivation” is sending us all back down memory lane, and we are here for it.

Staking a claim for herself as a serious contender in pop music, the former Fifth Harmony member tapped on legendary directors Dave Meyers and Daniel Russell to bring this track’s visuals to life. Overflowing with nostalgia and references to some of our favorite throwback R&B videos of the early 2000s, “Motivation” pays homage to the Black millennial childhood and adolescence in a matter of nearly four minutes.

The video opens with a young Normani dashing in the living room to see what artist claimed the No. 1 spot on the iconic music countdown show 106 & Park formerly hosted by Terrence J and Rocsi Diaz — Voilà, it’s Normani!

Strutting down an alley street with a white crop top and formfitting, low-rise denim jeans, Normani tips her hat to Beyoncé’s unforgettable “Crazy in Love” intro. As she transitions from scene to scene, the songstress unleashes her top-tier dancing skills, all while referencing our favorite videos like Omarion’s “Touch,” Ciara’s “1,2 Step” and “Goodies” and even 3LW’s “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right).”

There’s definitely more hidden gems throughout this reminiscent video. “Motivation” dropped early this morning and already has more than 680,000 views.
