President Obama has no shortage of work in his final weeks in the White House, and some of that work surrounds the results of this year’s election. Let’s go back just a bit — after the primaries, there was a decent amount of speculation hypothesizing that there was an outside influence on the election results. Many, including Intelligence Agencies, placed the blame of the election-related hacking on Russia.

In an interview with NPR today, Obama came out and said “I think there is no doubt when any foreign government tries to impact the integrity of our elections…we need to take action. And we will." Obama continued, saying some of the repercussions might be publicized and others might not.

President Obama was careful not to pin the entire election on Russia or the Trump campaign. He made it clear there’s still some investigating going on with Russia. Again, with only weeks left, Obama is hoping to have a report on the matter issued by the White House before Trump takes his seat as president on January 20th.

In response to recent accusations, Dmitry Peskov, presidential spokesperson for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Friday, "They should either stop talking about that or produce some proof at last. Otherwise it all begins to look unseemly."

Expect to hear President Obama address this and more in his final planned news conference this year today at 2 p.m. ET.
