Canadian production house Entertainment One has booked Pam Grier for the lead role in a currently-untitled action drama that will see the actress star as a retired ex-Homeland Security agent who is called on for one last job which puts her in charge of a young team of ambitious agents, on the trail of domestic terrorists hellbent on anarchy in the United States.
The script will be penned by Bennie Richburg (best known for his work on The Jamie Foxx Show, One on One and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Most recently, in addition to traveling with a retrospective of her screen work, Grier has been working on a script adaptation of her autobiography, Foxy: My Life In Three Acts, which Bennie Richburg also is writing.
Richburg (who’s African American, by the way) isn’t a name that I was familiar with before today. But now I am.
