Phylicia Rashad and Andre Braugher, have been added to the cast of “Outliving Emily,” a project based on a short story about the tumultuous marriage of a couple, over half a century. Comprised of 6 vignettes, each portrayed by twelve different actors, with real-life husband and wife Olympia Dukakis and Louis Zorich playing the couple in the final stages of their life together, the project also features Jeremy Jordan, Adam Rose and Luke Brandon Field.
“Outliving Emily” is produced by Josh Sugarman through the Tenafly Film Co. It is directed by Eric Weber from his own script, based on his short story.
Given the cast, this should, at the very least, be a well-acted film.
Rashad was most recently seen in the Codeblack Films/Lionsgate pick-up, Halle Berry’s Sybil-like tale, “Frankie & Alice,” which enjoyed a brief theatrical run, earlier this year.
Braugher’s booked on Fox’s hit TV series ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ which was renewed for a second season. He’s winning acclaim for his performance, notably, most recently, nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the Broadcast Television Journalists Association 4th Annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
