Upon entering Donald Trump's inauguration, guests were met with peaceful protestors at the event's checkpoints. Groups gathered in Washington, D.C., in front of the entrance ways and unified by chants like, "this checkpoint is closed" and "black lives matter."

Using the hashtag #DisruptJ20, hundreds of protestors are making their voices heard, putting their physical bodies in the way of a Trump presidency down at the National Mall. The group blocked an unknown amount of checkpoints, rumored to be 10 or more, and are using each one to highlight a different issue that needs to be addressed by the American government like racial justice, climate change, and the injustice at Standing Rock.

There's not much indication about what authorities are doing in response to the protests or if any altercations between inauguration attendees and the movements out blocking checkpoints. However, it's safe to say that the streets of Washington, D.C. are in chaos right now. There are definitely more people outside acting in support of what they believe than usual. And as long as everything stays peaceful on both sides, there's nothing better that anyone could ask for.
The President-elect's inauguration ceremony is supposed to start at 12 pm, but there is no official report at this time regarding if protestors have abandoned their posts. But, the timeline says that they are still there and remain strong.
