After previously defending R. Kelly, one of his girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage, is now identifying herself as one of the singer's victims.
On Saturday morning, Savage, one of the singer’s girlfriends, shared the first set of experiences on Patreon, a crowdfunding platform, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In the post, she detailed her first interactions with Kelly and the nature of their romantic relationship.
“Robert would always look at me in a sexual way the first couple of times we met occasionally,” Savage stated on the site.
Savage added that Kelly initially made sure she was taken care of, giving her money and clothes.
“I had everything I needed. I didn’t have nothing to worry about at the time,” she wrote.
However, she also revealed that the Chicago artist, who's been accused of countless acts of sexual abuse and misconduct, failed to follow through on his promise that he'd make Savage a model and singer.
“We also did a couple of songs together in his studio which he promised me he would release on his platform. Which never seen the day of light, Robert told me so many lies my 19 year old mind believed everyone of them,” she detailed.
The now 24-year-old continued her story by revealing that Kelly changed after living with him for several months, forcing her to call him “Master” or “Daddy.”
“If I wasn’t getting paid or pursuing my dream, I would’ve went home, but all of that didn’t stop just yet. But it started getting worse day by day, he would raise his voice at me if I didn’t call him by those two names,” she wrote.
She also said wasn't allowed any privacy:
"I can say I didn't have any type of privacy at all now that I think of it. If I showered one of his assistants would have to be by the door while I shower."
In an interview with Gayle King earlier this year, on CBS This Morning, Savage vehemently denied claims from her parents that Kelly had brainwashed her and defended her boyfriend.
“Our parents are out here just to get money,” she said, alongside Kelly's other girlfriend Azriel Clary.
Kelly's lawyer Steve Greenburg claims Savage's admissions are a response to losing financial support from the singer.
“Obviously if she were to tell the truth no one would pay so she has, unfortunately, chosen to regurgitate the stories and lies told by others for her own personal profit,” Greenburg told Variety.
The R&B singer is currently facing numerous sexual abuse charges across multiple cities and will remain behind bars until his criminal court date in 2020.
