Rep. Stacey Plaskett has an explanation for her legendary eyeroll during the Cohen hearing.
Plaskett told TMZ her facial expression was a response to Rep. Jim Jordan’s behavior during Michael Cohen’s testimony.
In the now infamous video, the Virgin Islands representative rolls her eyes and appears to mouth “be quiet” to Jordan.

Jordan has been vocal about his disapproval of the hearings, citing Cohen's history of lying under oath. He scolded Democratic House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings for allowing it, according to The Hill.
“The announced first witness for the 116th Congress is a guy who is going to prison in two months for lying to Congress,” Jordan said. “Mr. Chairman, your chairmanship will always be identified with this hearing. It's the first time a convicted perjurer has been brought back to be a star witness in a hearing. Mr. Chairman, when we legitimize dishonesty, we delegitimize this institution. We're supposed to pursue the truth, but you have stacked the deck against the truth."
Plaskett believes Jordan's display was an affront to Cummings and the Congressional committee.
"He needs to respect the chairman,” she stated. “And he needs to respect this committee. This is not a wrestling match. This is not his showtime. This is about the people of this country."

NBC reports Plaskett used some of her time to chide Republicans for complaining after Rep. Chip Roy said he had “more important things to do.”
“I’ve got a lot to do, as well,” Plaskett responded. "I've got houses and schools to help rebuild in the Virgin Islands, expansion of voting rights, educational opportunities, criminal justice reform. Thank God the Democratic majority can walk and chew gum at the same. So we are here with you right now.”

Plaskett was chill when asked about her viral status.
"I mean, I was just being myself, you know?" she said.
She also spoke briefly about the Cohen hearing and expressed faith in his testimony.
"I believe the evidence that he's presenting, and I think the corroborating evidence is the thing that the American people need to focus on,” she said.
