There's fresh drama afoot in the saga of Chris Brown and Rihanna.

Well, Chris Brown seems to be trying to stir up some of it, at least.

The 29-year-old singer caused a stir after commenting on a particularly sultry picture the 30-year-old Anti artist posted to promote Savage x Fenty's new holiday collection. 

Chris Brown decided it was imperative to let the world know just how the ad made him feel, and wrote a comment underneath the photo: a shocked-face emoji.

Making the comment more loaded is Brown and Rih's history. Following assault allegations against Brown, the pair broke up for good in 2013.

According to CNN, Rihanna's fans (better known as "The Navy") weren't here for her ex's emoticon shenanigans. One fan directly replied to his comment demanding Brown "stay away from Riri," another called him a "loser," Elite Daily reports. Others took to Twitter to express their irritation with the singer:

While the ambassador's fans were quick to look out for her, an anonymous source told Us Weekly she and Brown still communicate. 

“Chris and Rihanna continue to be in frequent contact with each other," the source claimed. "They are extremely supportive of each other’s projects. There is a lot of history between the two of them. Rihanna is aware that there will be concern about her friendship with Chris, but she can handle herself.”
