Actor Robert De Niro made an appearance on The View promoting his movie The Irishman and offered harsh words about the actions of the Trump children.
De Niro took a break from criticizing President Donald Trump to negatively characterize the actions of his children Ivanka, Donald Jr., and Eric Trump. De Niro told hosts of the show if his children acted in the matter alike to the Trumps, he would not want to be associated with them.
“I don’t want my kids to take this the wrong way, but if my kids did what these kids did, I wouldn’t want to be related to them,” De Niro said, though he never elaborated on specifically what he sees as their wrongdoing. “I would disown them. I'd have a serious talk with them.”
De Niro has not been shy to criticize Donald in the past and clearly has no plans of stopping.
"The president is supposed to set an example of trying to do the right thing, not be a nasty little b—h, because that's what he is. He's a petulant little punk," De Niro said in a recent New York Times interview. "There's not one thing that I see in him or his family, not any redeeming qualities. They're out on the take. It's like a gangster family."
De Niro has even called for Donald to be held "accountable" in conversations on the impeachment hearing — a sentiment he continued on the show.
"It's a taint on his presidency, more than a taint, it's a stain, one that he deeply deserves," De Niro said. "He has to take that punishment. He has to pay the consequences… He did something wrong, he has to pay for it, period."
De Niro's movie The Irishman has been released on Netflix and is expected to be a contender for awards.
