Congratulations are in order for #3 S&A Filmmaker Challenge winner Ka'ramuu Kush who has officially signed with talent and literary agency APA (Agency for the Performing Arts) – a firm that counts the likes of Viola Davis, Gary Oldman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jennifer Beals, and Louis C.K. as clients.
Ka'ramuu also mentioned that he'll soon be doing a guest master class on acting for TV & film at Howard University, and his AFI thesis project Salvation Road (which we've highlighted here on S&A) will be playing on Cinemax and its virtual companion MAX Go during the month of August.
He's also "shadowing" on a cable TV series – essentially, he almost literally shadows the director of a cable TV series (both will remain unnamed) – whatever he does, wherever he goes, whoever he interacts with, during the course of production of an episode of the series (pre-pro to post-pro, lasting about 3 weeks).
As Ka'ramuu notes, it's a wonderful opportunity for the "shadower" because he/she gets to connect with showrunners, producers, stars of the show, staff and crew that comprise the business of running a show for a major network. And it's quite a different experience (directing a TV show) from directing a film, as he's learned.
But he's definitely relishing the experience, and learning plenty, which is always a good thing.
Lastly, he says he has some exciting things in development, but will reveal them in time.
And oh, by the way, the first trailer for his S&A Filmmaker Challenge-winning production of And Then… should debut right here soon.
But it's great finding out that Mr Kush is apparently doing quite well, progressing, expanding, etc.
Looking forward to what comes next…
