A film that I doubt needs an introduction on this site, given how often we've written about and championed it!
Co-directed by documentary master Ken Burns, with his daughter Sarah Burns, and son-in-law David McMahon, the critically-acclaimed The Central Park Five, finally opens in select theaters this Friday, November 23rd, in New York, at Maysles Cinema and IFC Center , followed by Los Angeles on November 30th, at Landmark's Nuart Theatre.
A day after you've stuffed your stomachs with turkey, redeem yourselves with a screening of a great film that'll inform, inspire, and more.
Those who attend the Maysles-sponsored Sunday, November 25, 4pm screening of the film at the Oberia D. Dempsey Center Auditorium on 127 West 127th Street (tickets HERE), will be treated to a post-screening Q&A with the filmmakers (Sarah Burns and David McMahon), and 4 of the 5 members of the Central Park Five (Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Korey Wise).
And 4 attendees of that specific screening will get in for FREE!
How? By entering the S&A/Maysles Cinema/Central Park Five screening contest. It's simple.
Maysles has allotted S&A 2 pairs of tickets for this contest, so you can thank them!
To enter, just answer the below question related to the film. The 2 winners will be selected from all the correct submissions, and will each win a pair of tickets (or 4 in total). So both winners each get 2 tickets to that screening.
The trivia question is, in the interview Tambay did with members of the Central Park Five last week, in a few sentences, how did they say that the entire ordeal has negatively affected their lives today? Read the interview HERE.
Send your answers to [email protected] with the words "CP5 Tickets" in the subject heading; you have until this Wednesday, the 21st, at 11:59pm EST to submit your answers.
Please make sure that you can attend the Sunday, November 25, 4pm screening of the film at Oberia D. Dempsey Center Auditorium, before entering!
The 2 winners will be announced some time on Thursday.
