S&A Top 10 Posts Of 2012 - #1: Anything And Everything 'Django Unchained'

And…. we're down to the last 1. This is it – the #1 post/item on S&A in the year 2012. And it really shouldn't be a surprise that this is #1 – seriously!

Once again, recapping what I said about this series several days ago when I started it… Since last week, I've been counting down the top 10 S&A posts/items of 2012, considering a number of factors, like number of comments, Facebook "likes," Facebook "shares," Twitter retweets, page views, and more.

Number 10 on the list, posted last week Monday, was Cybel's A Cinematographer’s Plea to the Budding Film Auteur : Move Your Camera. The number one hot-topic post of 2012 on S&A was… drumroll… Django Unchained!

Like I said, no surprise, right? It's a project we've been reporting on, covering, analyzing, critiquing, dissecting, anticipating, praising, etc, etc, etc, since it was first announced publicly in the latter half of 2011, when Sergio broke the story that it was happening, followed by my review of the script, and all the successive posts that would follow, whether on the film itself, or on topics related to the film's subject matter, leading up to its eventual release on Christmas day, last year. So, really, it's only been in theaters for a week, But it feels like it's been out a lot longer than that, given how much we've written about it over the last 18 or so months.

Each and every single post on the project was met with heavy discussion/debate, with comment threads running into the high 100s in a few cases.

It's most certainly been quite the hot topic, and I expect it will continue to be in the new year, although we've sworn not to write about it any further – unless a story about it breaks that demands we cover it.
