Carmelo Anthony is returning to the states with not one, not two, but three gold medals for his stellar repeat performances at the Olympics. This puts him in a league all his own, becoming the first men’s basketball player to win gold three times. During his fourth visit to the Olympics, Melo pulled out record-breaking performances in Rio as he now holds the title of Team USA’s all-time leading scorer in Olympic history.
Following Team USA’s 96-66 blowout victory over Serbia Sunday, Melo reflected on his historic accomplishment saying in a post-game interview, “This is it for me”.
